Should I try - J'essaie?

There are words that leave a longlasting impression on some people. For me, one of these words is "homeostasis", meaning the particularity of a system that has, by various processes, a composant stay at an always stable level whatever changes happens to it. Body temperature maintenance is homeostasis seen in action, for instance. It's so important a concept for biology that the term that was chosen to define it is a pleonastic greco-latin hybrid : homeo meaning same in latin and stasis coming from a greek root meaning "that stays still"; it must be an important concept if its inventor (Internet tells me it was coined by Walter Bradford Cannon) felt the need to insist so much on it.

This wonderful word, I'd like to translate it in knitting. I have this peculiarity of  chronically being very gauche in the morning (the french would say I have my head still in the pâté). When I was still working in a shop, the big entertainment was observing me all day with my clothing inside-out and only notify me at closing time. So, for me, knitting homeostasis would be a sweater that could be worn inside-out, upside-down, front in the back...I think it would have to be two squares with sleeves as broad as the square, to accomodate hips as well as arms. In essence, it would be two greek crosses sewn together, except at the tips of the arms :

Work would be started at the center and worked in the round, then short rows for the arms. Garter stitch if I am lazy; reversible cables or faggot stitch if I am ambitious.

But there is a huge problem : my 50" bust measurement. It would need a real tent of a sweater with huge, absurdly  flappy arms. If I do it, it will be a less accomplished design : just a long tube with a little positive ease and two normal sleeves at the middle level. OR maybe a ribbed concoction, in order to be more fitted, except at the neckline that could be folded over the shoulders.

So, I don't know whether I'm actually going to do it or not.On the one hand, the conception of such a project would do wonders on my mental health, but it's a lot of work for what could very possibly end up a real disaster.
So, should I?

Another word that would inspire me knitting is "serendipity". Except I can only see it one way : a knit that would be started a way and ended up going a totally different way, due to a stellar idea (one can dream ;) ) during the making...

Sounds good - Prometteur

No writing workshop this week. Instead, we listened to the six first chapters of  a philosophical tale, The Soul of the World by Frédéric Lenoir. And it sounds so promising. Seven wise people, from different religions (or lack of religion, for that matter) are simultaneously called to the tibetan monastory of Toulanka. To be continued... As a matter of fact, I'm so impatient to know what follows that  I bought the Kindle version. I also bought Happiness : a Philosopher's Guide because that one sounds that good. And Petit Traité de Vie Intérieure, which doesn't seem to have been translated in English.

On another, totally unrelated subject, it just occured to me my hallucinations changed since I have  started working at the ESAT : B.E. (before ESAT) I had mostly intruding and rude voices, or fantom phone calls, with the occasional visual or touch hallucination  (imagine hundreds of insects running on your limbs, and you can't see them; I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy) or the even more frightening wellcoming voice, which always made me think of a mermaid trying to entice a sailor to his death, and by association, to entice me to more insanity; but for six months I have mostly seen things. I wonder if it's the way my subconscient chose to register a big change?

News - Des nouvelles

J'aurais aimé qu'on me prévienne.

Currently, I'm having trouble with everyday life and work. Waiting for the bus in the morning, I have fantasies or being ran over by a car and, once I'm at the bus station to take my second bus, I have a hard time taking the proper bus. I want to take the bus back home instead. I often feel as if reality is slipping away, just as if I was going to faint. And last monday I panicked because of an hallucination. It was raining and the rain drops were transforming into giant ants when they were touching ground. I generally rationalize quickly my hallucinations, but this time I panicked. The intern gave me the choice between hospitalisation and new medication. I chose the medication, as I know my mother wouldn't like another hospital stay. I thought it was an anti-anxiety drug. No, it's another antipsychotic. I would have liked to know beforehand. It was on wednesday. Today (sunday) I feel a bit better, I might even crochet a little, but I'm always sleepy and hungry. Tonight we're going at the Gaumont cinema theater to see the captation of Giselle, performed by the Bolchoï, but I don't know if I will have the willpower to go.

Some better news : I still have an hour of creative writing per week at the ESAT, and apparently, I'm writing well; it feels strange to me, because when I reread what I wrote, I think most of my texts are lifeless, I don't know how to express joy or other positive feelings.
